Fairfield, Connecticut — January 26, 2026, 12:34 p.m.
Snow has stopped falling here. We got a total of fifteen inches of snow in this storm. As I wrote in my original post yesterday, this was the worst storm we have experienced since 2016.
In the photos above you can see the snow levels. I am six-foot tall and have long legs. The photo on the right was taken as I was standing in the front yard. The snow almost went up to my knees.
The town has cleared the roads, though there is little traffic on the roads today as people dig out from the deluge.
Transit services are slowly coming back online. Metro North, which serves our area, is running on a Saturday schedule today with additional rush hour trains.
Now comes the deep freeze. Forecasted high today is 28 F (-2 C) and the overnight low is forecasted to be 13 F (-11 C). Friday will be the coldest, with a high of 17 F (-8 C) and a low of 3 (-16 C). And, we are expecting more snow on Saturday and Sunday.
Bundle up, everyone!
